Creative Writing for Fact or Fiction

Service Description

This workshop for fact or fiction has been devised by an award-winning writer to help you get your ideas and experiences onto the page. The exercises can be used by novelists, short story writers or life-memoirists for inspiration to help you to find stories within yourself that you didn't know were there. This course will include: 2-hour writing sessions (Weeks 1 - 5) Techniques to start writing and/or develop work-in-progress The opportunity to have writing done in the workshop read and discussed Showcase Night on Week 6 for those who wish to share prepared work LEVEL The workshop will be conducted in a friendly, constructive atmosphere in the Lounge Room and is open to anyone with a desire to write, from beginners to experienced writers. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Bound notebook, pen & a spare. SHOWCASE NIGHT On Week 6 you will have the opportunity to read prepared work. If you participate as a reader, you'll need to bring photocopies to receive the best feedback. These copies will be returned to you to assist in your rewrite. Word limit: 1300 WHAT TO PAY If you are employed, please pay the full rate. If you are a student or employed part-time, the concessionary rate. If you have financial hardship, pay the reduced rate.
