Service Description
Did you know you can practice mindfulness while dancing? How is that for a New Year's resolution? Whittington Park Community Centre is inviting you to 10 FREE weekly Mindfulness Dance sessions to help you kickstart 2025 with a healthier body and mind. Starting on the 10th of January we will gather every Friday from 6pm to 8pm to take care of our wellbeing in a fun and relaxing way. Every session will begin with a gentle somatic warm up followed by simple movement exercises designed to release muscle tension, encourage self expression freeing our bodies and minds from habitual patterns and induce a state of freedom and ease. After closing the session with brief mediation all dancers are welcome to stick around for tea and chats! - No experience needed, all welcome! - Wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water with you; - No shoes and no judgement on the dance floor; - The dance floor is a chat free zone to facilitate going within. The Mindfulness Dance sessions will be guided by facilitator Andreea Mona who is a performer and coach, with over 15 years experience of performative and therapeutic movement practice.
