Big City Bug Hunt, Free Family-Friendly Event in Islington

Interested in wildlife? Curious about biodiversity? Come and discover the bugs and insects living right on our doorstep at the Big City Bug Hunt in Whittington Park Community Garden.
We’re teaming up with Capital Growth to explore the garden, discover local wildlife and record what we find on iNaturalist. No experience is needed, and guides will be there to help identify our tiny neighbours.
The Bug Hunt will also give us a useful picture of the biodiversity currently living in our garden, so we can see how it changes and improves over the next few years.

The community centre will be open for drinks, toilets, shade and rest. Please dress for the weather.
Tree Trails & Pollinator Pathways
The Big City Bug Hunt is part of Tree Trails & Pollinator Pathways, a wider project helping to create almost 8km of greener routes for people and wildlife across Islington.
Over the next two years, we’ll be working with local communities and partners to plant pollinator-friendly plants, improve green spaces and create better habitats for local wildlife.
