Free Event North London: BioBlitz at Whittington Park
Updated: Sep 2

Come along to our free BioBlitz and help us discover and record the plants, insects and other species living in our local green spaces.
We’ll be exploring the area with local nature expert Bob Gilbert, using the free iNaturalist app to identify and record what we find. No previous knowledge is needed, just an interest in nature and a smartphone to log your discoveries.
A BioBlitz is a citizen science survey that brings people together to record as many different living species as possible. What we discover will help us understand the biodiversity in our area now and track how it changes over time.

Supporting local biodiversity
The BioBlitz is part of Tree Trails & Pollinator Pathways, a collaboration between Octopus Community Network, Islington Council and the National Trust. Building on the work of residents in the Tufnell Park Nature Neighbourhoods area, the project aims to create almost 8km of greener, more connected routes for people and wildlife across the local area.
We’ll repeat the BioBlitz each season, helping us track changes in local wildlife as the project works to improve green spaces and create better habitats for nature.
